I am a hostess

I am a hostess.

I'm the woman who greets you.

I'm the smiling face you see as you enter the restaurant.

I'm the first person you meet here.

I am the first impression, the first look.

I am also the woman you yell at.

The person who tells you we're on a wait.

The person who puts up with the imbeciles

and answers the stupid questions.

The person whose spirit is dampened at the end of the day.

The person whose smile begins to fade.

I am a hostess.
