I Am... An Idealist

I am an idealist

Always dreaming

Always searching

For something better

For something real

Often too disconsolate to continue

And too fearful to perish

Waking up has become harder

As I've found more satisfaction asleep

Than I ever have awake

But I'm still searching

Trying to be a person worth writing about

A person who knows herself

I felt disconnected

So I hid and turned to stone

Now I'm breaking my walls

And growing branches
