I Am Just Me

I often hear the comparison of myself and others. I hear the words. Unwanted. Not Enough. Too big. Black! Sometime they cut deep into skin causing me nothing but pain. Cute. Loved. Caring. Mature. Loving. Outgoing! Sometime these words will brighten my day and make me stand out from all the rest. When all these words come together they form in the shape of a strong rod that keeps my back strong and my body standing. I am Just me! Living in  shadows of my family members, trying to maintain a good name-Doing what it takes to keep them proud of me I drain myself from the various activities I'm involved in. Going out with my friends is an escape from reality. The joy and laughter we share takes me away on a cloud. Away from the hardships and burdens of life. At the end of the day, I am Just Me! Music is my drug. Without it, the air passages inside me would become forever dry and breathless. A DISTINCT, majestic Voice comes from my mouth. Singing the melodies of R&B, transposing to Gospel. Having a voice that is so heavy and filled with emotion, I blow my audience away. Either being better than most but not good enough for others, I simply say, I am Just Me! Overall, I am not your average girl, I'm different. Some may call me crazy and think I'm not normal, that’s fine on my part. I accept myself and I love myself. To all of you that doubt my abilities, thank you so much because you made me realize that I AM JUST ME!
