I Am... knowledgeable

I Am:

From the day we’re born; the day we’re born, I said,

We’re expected to know who we are, and

What we’re gonna be.

‘who’ we’re gonna be.

“he’ll be a handsome man” , she says.

“he’ll be a ‘strong’ man”, he says.

“so I’ll be a firefighter,”, I say.

Knowledge; is me. Knowledge; I am.

Since day one, its been a journey,

Search and research; research and search.

Just as the moon rises,

but my knowledge never sets.

One day I took a pen and paper,

And words waterfalled out in blue ink.

“that’s a good story”, they said.

“that sounds really dark and deep”, they said.

“so I’ll be a writer”, I said.

Knowledge; is me. Knowledge; I am.

Since day one, its been a journey,

Search and research; research and search.

Just as the moon rises,

but my knowledge never sets.

On a particular day, I was out a’fishing.

A weekend camping trip, was it.

A two (adventure-filled) day weekend.

Which made me fall in love with nature.

“so I’ll be an environmentalist”, I say.

Knowledge; is me. Knowledge; I am.

Since day one, its been a journey,

Search and research; research and search.

Just as the moon rises,

but my knowledge never sets.
