I am a Lesson

How can you possibly know who you are?

Living in a world of masks,

Everyone in a competition.

Best eyeliner, best Valencia.

Silly girl, dont you know,

You are prettiest without.

Look in the mirror and like what you see

Learn from me,

Don't be me.

Keep looking until you find something you like,

Not something they like.

Don't be me,

Don't let your mask define you

Don't let it glue itself to your face until you forget.

Until you forget what your real smile looks like,

What your real eyebrows and eyelashes look like.

I tried to fight but I want you to fight harder

Don't be me

Break these rules and love yourself

Love yourself without limitations- without filters.

Love yourself like I have forgotten to love myself.

Do not let the number of likes define you like I let it define me.

Your worth is more than colors on your face

Or the perfect amount of contrast in your picture

I fell into it,

The colors and self hate

And once you're in you cant escape,

I take away the colors and I still have that hate.

Please love yourself,

Before it's too late.

Don't glue that mask onto your face
