I Am a Liar.
A girl who holds her head up high,
chin up; a smile on her face.
When performing, she is whole.
The quiet walk to her car,
after the applause has died down and the lights no longer beat down on her skin.
Walking down the halls at school,
Strangers smile.
They know well of the girl on stage,
but not of what eats at her soul from day to day.
And but of course she smiles back,
a wide, toothy grin.
They need not know of how she cries her self to sleep at night.
Because nobody REALLY knows her,
they know the girl on the stage.
But the girl on the stage... she's a liar.
She's cocky and confident and full of greatness.
but I.. I am not.
