I Am A Lily

I am a lily.

Fragile, delicate, white and pure.

I will fall to pieces if you leave me.

All my petals will slowly wither away, and land softly on the ground, then rot into the soil below me.

I will suffocate if you do not nurture me.

My stem will turn to a dark mossy green, my petals will turn to a dark mud brown, and I will become lifeless if you do not care for me.

I will decay and my soul will turn black if I sense you want to leave me.

My pearl white petals which reflect the sun perfectly will in time turn black, but you will not be able to tell. I will remain white, but my soul will already be dead.

I will feel joy when you give me all of your love.

My stem will perk up when I sense the warm soil all around me is filled with love and tenderness. I will gorw, and be filled with new life if I know that I am constantly being nurtured by the gentle soil. You must give me all the attention in the world.

I will know when you are caring for another other than me.

The signs will be subtle, and creep up slowly, but I will know the minute you stop giving me your full love and care. When I sense you love someone other than myself, I will shrivel up, never allowing the sunlight to beam on me again.

I will die if I know you do not love me anymore.

I am a lily.
