I Am Living In A World

I am living in a world that is dim, dark, and grey.
Wake up daily to a life so full of regrets, heartaches, and pain.
Remember how you hurt me, how you stabbed me in the back,
now everywhere I go I have my guard up afraid that people only want to attack.

How could you leave, you put me in danger by not being here,
now you got me scared and crying rivers of tears.
Somebody took apart of me I could never get back
all because of you not caring and taking the slack.

Wide awake at night thinking about how you’re gone,
was I really that bad what did I do that was so wrong.
I'm jealous of the rain that touches your skin
knowing I could never be that close to you unless I were the wind.

Overloading myself with the pains from my past,
then I breath in, out, calm down
and remember about a friend named Jesus who would never put me last.
In fact, he cared, when nobody else did,
and he always could find me whenever I hid.

He accepted me no matter what with arms opened wide,
he showed me unconditional love that's really hard to find.

I don't dwell on the haters because they'll continue to hate,
instead I’ll be grateful for the ones who show me kindness
and speak words that motivate.

For every one person that doesn't like me
there's hundreds more that do,
so I'm releasing my anxiety
and listening to my inner conscious saying remain being you.

Then the next time I'm felling down about the things I can't control,
I'll think of someone in need and do something positive to impact my world.

I was living in a world that was dim, dark, and grey
until the day I decided no one could take my sunshine away.
God creates a light for me, and he stops the pouring rain.
I choose to be happy and forgive the ones who have caused me pain.

To all the ones who think they can control me with their hurtful words
try someone else cause no one can change the smile on this girl!
