I am lost

here is the dark…

here is the silence…

cold and unwelcoming,
vast and empty.
no way throught it,

but can’t stay in it.
too many questions hide amongst it,
questions without meaning or answers.
questions that scare the soul,
and quicken it’s urge to escape.

there i sit, a ghost if all,
trapped in a cage with no bars, no sides.
i can’t be saved there is no light,
the break of silence is just too loud.
with a drop of water the church bells toll,
light a single match and the sun now sits in front of me.
leave me while you still can,
don’t look back because already….
…….i am lost.
