I Am Loved

We are told that it is everywhere,

Said to fill all of our hearts.

Yet some move on in life alone,

And how could we say that that is love.

We live our lives striving for one thing,

Just one thing to give our existence meaning;

To love and to be loved.

We watch some live their lives searching for a love they will never quite grasp.

A love so true and pure it cannot be broken nor forgotten,

A love where time can do no damage,

And a love so real yet sweet it seems like magic.

We are told only of the love of romance,

Yet where are philos, agape, and storge?

Eros is no better love than the others,

But yet we agonizing over only it.

A platonic love we feel for our companions,

Or the love you feel for your family,

Are two loves no weaker.

Romantic love I may not have found,

Someday I hope to feel it.

But today my heart is filled with the love from those around,

I know I am loved and love in return,

And therefore my heart is complete.

We are all unique and differnt individuals but are similar in one way; we are all loved. Never forget that.
