I Am (Loved)
I searched for You.
In everything, I searched for You.
The divorce didn't show You.
The shattered glass disfigured You.
The yelling overpowered Your words.
And so, I never found You.
Until I did.
I finally found You.
After years are searching.
After a life of inadequacy.
A life of false matrimony.
I finally found You.
I began to read about You.
More and more.
I began to understand You.
You called Yourself "I Am."
And You called me, "Loved."
And the truth of that name,
It exceeded enough.
It took too many years
For me to finally see
That when You died, it meant
You truly are "I Am"
And "Loved" is truly me.
We distorted the truth
And let it fall away.
The truth of what love is.
What love will say.
I know it doesn't envy,
Nor will it boast.
But love- True Love-
Acts in a way unlike most.
He makes Himself weak.
He bleeds out for the world.
He dies for us all.
Every boy. Every girl.
True Love is in sacrifice.
The nails of a Cross.
The lashes on a back.
The appearance of a loss.
But True Love delivers.
It promises victory.
True Love endures.
His heart, a mystery.
Strong and courageous.
Infinite and astounding.
My life was changed
When I entered love abounding.
You took my fears,
And set me free.
And now I know
That "I Am" is You
And "Loved" is me.
