I am a Masterpiece
I am a masterpiece.
You would never guess by simply looking at me.
I am more abstract.
At a first glance all you see is an overweight, young woman,
Striving to find acceptance within herself.
The next layer provides nothing spectacular.
A broken, twisted spine.
Scars and remains of several injuries procured over the years.
Deeper still displays a mind destroyed by years of mental anguish.
Depression masks a terrible self-image and self-worth.
Even here you can find scars from pain, years in the making.
A fear of abandonment dominates my thoughts.
Constant fear of losing those I love most.
All of these aspects of myself,
While terribly bleak,
Create a masterpiece.
While abstract, it is still beautiful.
I am still beautiful.
These deformities and scars create something.
Something no one has ever seen before.
I am an original.
I am one of a kind.
This makes me beautiful.
