I Am Me.

What are you.

A simple inquiry.

I am Abena.

“Girl born on Tuesday.”

I am Ghanaian.

And American.

I am hard-working.

I refuse to do nothing less than my best.

I am happy and loving.

Family makes up my identity

I wonder about many many things.

I want to be peace.

Live life to the fullest and be content.

I worry that I will be a disappointment.

A constant pressure.

Like the unknowing future.

I cry when I am frustrated and lost.

Like any other person.

I am strong and trusting.

I understand that life is not fair.

Well I say, "Bring it on!"

I dream of success in my future.

I try to turn the other cheek, keep my head up, no matter what.

I hope I wouldn’t lose me.

What I am.

Who am I?

I am Abena.
