I am Me

I am not labeled by the scars surrounding my heart

I am not labeled by the pain that pulses throughout my body

I am not labeled by the tears that cover the floor at night

I am not labeled as broken.

I am just damaged

I have the strength to hide my pain behind a smile

I am able to laugh

I am not my past

I am my future.

My world is not defined by obstacles in my life

It is defined by the triumphs

The battles that I have won

I am not weak.

Nor am I strong.
