I AM ME

I am the reflection of my dad,

With the patience of my mother.

A daughter of hardworking parents,

And a student at Lincoln high

School to the hornets.

I am Jennifer,

And I am dedicated to stay true to myself.

However that was not always true.

With a filter, I change myself into someone I am not.

Someone who hid under the fake reality she wished upon

I saw her dislike towards herself.

The desire to change, but when she tried

It was hard to complete.

That was me.

Confused, scared and unsecure.

However that me, has changed.

I am a new me.

One who does not care, try’s her best

And above all, loves her-self.

I am me.

Without a filter I see the real me,

A brave young woman

Who is not afraid of change,

And welcomes her fears with a smile.

I am me.

You can see me clearly now.

With no filter I am me.

Simple and original.
