I Am... Me
I am a child,
Bright-eyed and young,
Scanning every detail.
From trees, I hung.
I am a child,
With hopes and dreams,
Slowly learning,
The world is not what it seems.
I am a child,
Growing up, growing fast.
I zoom through the days,
Not looking back at the past.
I am a teenager,
Bored and headstrong.
I walk through dank hallways,
But hopefully not for long.
I am a teenager,
With many mistakes.
I don't listen to my head.
Everything is fake.
I am a teenager,
But I'm not really me.
I'm only demonstrating,
Who the world wants me to be.
I am in college.
I've learned so much.
I've grown to love,
Poetry and such.
I am in college,
I'm too young, but too old,
Learning to live,
And learning to be bold.
I am a person,
Who has discovered herself.
A journey with mountains,
A journey with health.
I am a person,
I finally understand.
To live and live well,
You must play in the sand.
I am myself,
And it wasn't hard to see,
The person I am now,
I am finally me.
