I Am Me
I am less than perfect.
I am more than what I appear.
I am scared by events yet to happen.
I am shaped by experiences in my past.
I am spreadsheets and lists and organization.
I am easily persuaded by what my family believes.
I am pointless arguments even after I know I am wrong.
I am parked in front of the school when stars still light the sky.
I am the one who searches for optimism on the rainiest of days.
I am hours of study when my friends don’t even crack the spine of the book.
I am a techie because the thought of standing in the spotlight makes me freeze.
I am earbuds plugged in because music fills my ears like air fills my lungs.
I am filled with music, steeped in chlorine, and blessed with memory.
I am someone who strives for perfection in the face of defeat.
I am embarrassed when getting but proud when giving.
I am a lover of roller coasters but scared of heights.
I am adverse to sand but attracted to the ocean.
I am a hands-on student and quick to learn.
I am in love with bright colors and sparkles.
I am loud in silence and silent in a crowd.
I am startled by the slightest sound.
I am devoted to my family.
I am unique.
I am me.

Your Poem's Voice
Deeply personal, autobiographical identity exploration with concrete details.
Rapid-fire assertions; many ideas compressed into parallel structure.
Mixed but ultimately affirming; vulnerabilities balanced by self-acceptance.
Relentless anaphoric drive; intensifying declarations create mounting momentum.
Approximately 31-50 lines of stacked assertions.
Similes present; metaphor implied through parallel constructions; mostly direct.
Pure lyric introspection; internal voice defining self for self.
