I Am Me
Who am I?
‘Tis the question that most are asked,
yet few can answer.
But, here’s what I think.
I am
the youngest in my family,
the baby, the smallest.
Fourteen . . .
Ten . . .
And nine
years younger than my
siblings.
I am
different than my family.
We share black hair,
but I have chocolate eyes
and my hair the longest,
while also the thickest.
My eyes shaped differently,
while my nose is not as
prominent.
I am
an athlete.
Running, shooting, digging
hitting, or serving.
Conditioning all summer
just to be broken during practice,
hurt and blamed every game.
I am
a apart of family.
With my mother,
My brothers,
sister-in-laws,
And nieces and
nephews.
I am
an undergraduate student
at Slippery Rock University.
Pre-medicine and Biology
go hand in hand,
yet a touch of theater
coincides.
I study long and hard,
I stress out
and freak out.
I am
an average person,
but little things make me
unique.
My quarks
define me;
They make me different
than the person besides me.
This is who I am.
This is me.
