I am me

I’m from the music that runs through my ears

leaking into my veins sending powerful

vibes of prosperity, courage, and gracefulness

throughout my life.

I’m from the playground swings.

The happy screams and the sad goodbyes.

From falling down many structures to completing many obstacles.

I’m from my jumble of emotions that are hidden away in a treasure box.

I’m from the heart that never stops giving.

Loved by many but despised by the envy of others.

I am from my ancestors who are soaring through the sky aligning the stars at night.

I’m from the night owl that stays awake to think to itself.

I’m from the late night scoundrels

wandering throughout the world in a lost bubble to find the meaning of their life.

I’m from the forgotten ones that are always trying to fight for what they believe in.

The ones who were used and abused.

The ones that breathed in the dry musty night air.

I am from the people who never gave up.

The people who were crushed by the world,

but trudged on to find their happiness.

I’m from the people who try to find the good in every day.

I’m from the people who watched the flowers bloom at their feet

and the trees part the way for their path to escape.
