I Am From Memories
I Am From Police Sirens
From Shattered Windows
I Am From Trash Covered Streets
Empty Beer Bottles They Looked Like Mirrors
I Am From Soulful Choirs
The Stained Gloss Whose Bright Floresent Colors Glistened
As If Jesus Himself Was Shining Through
I Am From Crowed Porches And Hair Grease
From Loud Music And Laughter
I Am The Side Walk Chalk
From Gun Shots And Screams
I Am From Dads Late Nights Home
Always With A Story To Tell And My Face In Disbelief
I Am From The Carryout Down The Block
The Smell Of Fried Rice And Chicken
From The Constant Anger The Tears My Mother Cried
Under My Bed Is Where I Hid As Distant Flames Illuminates my Room
Silent I Glide Through The Streets Unnoticed
Realizing i Am From The Burning Bush Set Aflame By Animosity
I Am From The Ashes That Built My Family Tree
