I am More
I am more than numbers on a scale
I am more than the voice in my head saying “you stupid girl, all you do is fail”
I am more than the scars on my skin
And those within
I am more than the venomous words spat from those I’m supposed to trust
I am more than pictures shoved in my face and society telling me it is just.
I am more than a grade
I am more than a memory of pain that will not fade
I am more than what you think of me
I am more than what even I thought I could be
I am more than all your hate
I am more because I stood at Hell’s gate
I am more because I stood strong and without fright
I am more because I will not go down without a fight
I am more because you fail to beat me down
I am more because I smile when all I want to do is frown
I am more than what I thought I deserved
I am more
I am so much more.
