I Am the Moss

I am the Moss

I am the moss,

and to you,

I am barely there.

I make soft ground to walk on.

I decorate your trees and rocks,

but to you,

I am barely there.

If I were gone,

would you notice?

Of course.

But here I am and

do you notice?

No.

If I was as tall as a tree,

If I was as lovely as a flower,

then you might notice me.

But I am neither

tall as a tree,

nor lovely as a flower.

I am the moss,

and to you,

I am barely there.
