I am Moving
I am moving
Living among sleet and snow
Going to warming rays
My pace becomes slow
Missing our familiar ways
Sleet and snow turn to silt and mud
Air is laced with mosquitos and water
I saw reptiles with cold blood
This state is much hotter
I adapted at once
But then I became a dunce
I am moving
Muddy became sandy
Silt turns to ocean
I was lost in the motion
I am no longer dandy
The sun became burning
While I sat yearning
For the snowy days
And familiar ways
That I was used to so long ago
My heart closed
I could take the verbal blows
Unable to expose
My deep sorrow
Then came tomorrow
I am adaptable
I willed myself to be adjustable
The lump in my chest beat
Blood flowed feelings back
I jumped and leaped
Nothing held me back from my one track
I have scars from my past
All faint memories of joy filled days
I will keep these close to my heart
While I visit the near by bays
My life was now a blank canvas for me to make my art
I was moved
