I am a Musician

I am a musician.

They didn't teach us to hate,

They taught us to harmonize.

I am a musician.

Where sadness meat sound,

And joy is a melody.

I am an artist.

We paint melodies in tragedy

To show you you're not alone.

I am an artist.

We share in your joy,

Composing dances to celebrate.

I learned that differences make symphonies

Which make emotion tangible.

There's power in unisons,

More still in harmonies.

Chord to chord makes a melody,

Melodies make songs,

And songs say everything words cannot.

I am a musician.

We march with the times,

And love to the beat of your heart.
