I am my mind
What you see on the outside was given to me, something I have to work with. The real me you can't see or touch. It doesn't have a shape or form. You can hear it when I speak and you can feel it when I hug. It goes beyond my skin, beyond the nerves and muscles, way past the bones.
I Am,
The late night studies and tired mornings
The failures and successes
The mistakes I make, but learn from
The fears that ponder in my mind
The friends I've made
The people I've help
The lost loved ones
The crazy sister
The rebellious daughter
The adorable granddaughter
The strong, independent woman
The needy, complicated girlfriend
The hard choices
The good and bad memories
The good and bad moments
The insecurities
The scolds and praises
The annual trips to Mexico
The morning coffees with my aunt
The fights with loved ones
The Sunday masses
The hard work
The strength
The confidence
The good and bad
I am my world, everything I have ever encountered or experienced. Don't let the exterior fool you, it can only tell you so much. The real me lies deep inside. All humans possess it and our subjective experiences allow us to shape it into our own. I am my mind.
