I Am The Night

When everyone talks, talks, talks

I'm always here, and I always listen.

Sometimes forgotten, sometimes pushed away

But like the night, I never lose my way.

Not always popular, never the best

But always confident, unwavering, putting myself last.

My heart is as warm as a blazing fire in the dark

My eyes glow like the rippling tide after dusk

My words guide the way like the North Star.

I will never be the image of perfection

But I am always the guiding light,

the song in your heart that leads the way.

Tell me your woes, your greatest wish

I'll be here, there, anywhere

A lookout in the dark

The light that guides you on your way.

Whoever you are, wherever you stay

I'm there for you forever and always.

When you have my heart or catch my eye

I'll be the guiding star in your midnight sky.
