I AM NOT

I am NOT angry, loud or insecure

My body is not the only thing I can bring to the table.

I do not depend on the government to support me financially

My father was active in my life

I graduated from high school without a child

I speak proper English

No I am not named after a car

And majority of the males in my family are not in prison.

No grape soda is not my favorite

And there's no Kool Aid in my refrigerator

Fried chicken is not eaten in my house everyday

And weave is not needed in order for me to "slay"

You asked me who I am so I'm telling you this

I AM an African American women

I AM NOT A STATISTIC
