I Am Not

    I am a firm believer that to completely discover oneself is completely impossible.

   Throughout this journey we call our lives we face wonderous times and also stumble across difficulties.

   Our view on ourselves is a reflection of our view on the world at that certain time period and the world is constantly changing unable to stay frozen.

   This means that our views on who we are, are constantly changing.

   These changes can be drastic or minimal, but to define who we are is utterly impossible without asking what's going on around us.

  To define myself I would not think of who " I am", but who I am not.

  I am not my divorced parents 

  I am not my unstable childhood 

  I am not the terrible words that have been spoken to me 

  I am not my fluctuating weight 

  I am not an image of machismo

  I am not the expectation and stereotypes placed upon me 

  I am not my academics 

  I am not my friends

  I am not all the times I've failed 

  I am not all the times I've fallen 

  I am not my mistakes   

  I am not the non-existent father figure in my life

  I am not an adult 

  I am a teenage boy my name is Francisco, my friends call me chito and I don't know who I am I'm still trying to figure that out myself.
