I am not this Crazy World
This is our crazy world
Police killing Young Black Teens
and creating tensions in Communities
And Gay marriage and Abortion
and Wars and Loss of American culture
this is our crazy world
white boys going in to churches shooting people of god because of Racism and hatred
and a police officer killed walter scott
its crazy but this is our world is that way
and i wish it could be better but everyday i see it stays the same
And why are they using all these computers?
what happened to pen and paper?
but this is our crazy world
why are so many young black males in a cell?
why we cant get money without going to jail?
and why all these folks taking old folks money in not in jail?
and why is my mom scared to walk down the street
because that guy , that guy , that guy
and maybe even me
but this is our crazy world
and every smoking weed or on drugs
why cant we just read a book instead of roll up
but i know its so tough
how this world is changing
but this is our crazy world
AID/HIV positive men and women
when will people stop and know there symptoms
we are killing eachother
what happened to us living to get better for one another?
I just wish i had a chance
for somebody to lay me to rest in my bed
but i cant be dead
so i pick up my legs
because i cant walk forward if im resting my legs
I am smart just been through alot
Like loosing both grandmothers
and having to see one of em die
but inside im a humble person
so i cant cry but when i look up in the school
I pray that god is on my side
and whats and the dark comes to light
so why is america sleeping but still shining in the night?
Im well respected
somewhat neglected
sometimes disrespected
but never reckless
patience is key
but its hard to wait
in this messed up place
and what is life or the great escape
and i read between the lines just to understand my ways
I am not this world
because it is filthy
full of sins and lies
I am not this world
