I Am Not A Filter

I Am Not a Filter

By: Chaundria Jones

I’m a hoe.

I’m that girl that walks around with a permanent smile to the world.

Girls, boys, women, men, homosexuals, transgender, bisexuals, or transsexuals.

I’m that girl that gives hugs for apparently no reason.

I’m a hoe.

I’m a bitch.

No, not a female dog or a dog in heat.

I’m, that bitch that gets called a bitch when I disagree.

No, not a bad bitch, but a bitch who has confidence and won’t settle for less.

“Hell Nah! I can’t stand sagging pants.”

“Nope, I don’t think smoking is cool.”

Yep! I’m a bitch.

Damn! I’m Fat.

I aint no size 2, but I love my skin.

I’m in love with all kinds of chicken.

Damn straight, I got stretch marks.

Hell nah! I don’t use Mederma.

I have love handles, with loose arms, hardly any bone.

I hate diets and working out.

But, my refrigerator is stocked with Yoplait, V8, Weight Watchers, Greek Yogurts, Nectar Juices, and Sun Chips.

What the hell?!?

I’m not a nigga, but I’m black.

I never watched Friday, Friday After Next, or Next Friday.

But, I’m black.

I wear Peruvian, Brazilian, Virgin, and Non-Virgin weave.

But, I’m black.

I speak proper grammar.

 But, I’m black.

I like taking long walks with no destination.

But, I’m black.

I make friends and corny jokes.

And, hell yeah! I’m still black!

I’m a hoe.

I’m a bitch.

I’m fat.

I’m black.

I am not a filter.

I would say that i am an one of a kind poet. There are not many of me. There are not many people that have the boldness to express themselves through poetry with the way it comes to them, but being fluently correct.
