I am Not My Mother

  I am supposed to be a high school drop out. Addicted to some type of drug. people think this because of my mother, but I am not my mother. I am not like my mother. I will not find myself in an abusive relationship. I will not let a coward take my glasses off and hit me in the ribs.  I will not become addicted to Heroin. I will never be like my mother. I will never leave my little girl, to fend for herself at the age of ten. I will never leave my daughter at home for two weeks as I run away with my abusive boyfriend. I am not my mother! I am a smart, strong, independent young women. I will find a real man that knows how to treat a woman. When I have children, I will never leave them. I will be the mother I never had.
