I am not my skin

I am not just a person of color

I am a visison of God

I am a black woman

But I am not "pretty for a black girl"

I am not limited because of my race

I am limited because of what I think I deserve

And because I am determined

I am not my skin; I should be judged by the content of my character

And determination

Just like Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. wanted

Don't judge me on what you see,

But don't disregard my race

Don't be color blind, but see

That my race is part of me.

I am not my skin; my skin is me

Embrace it, Love it, Accept it
