I am not your slave

My skin is brown

My blood is bleeding red

My heart is holding all my scars

No knot to tie

No noose to hang

No tree to bear me as its fruit

I'm released from its oppression

I'm saved from the torture

I'm free from that hell

Raped and stained but unafraid

Whipped and beat but unashamed

You hold no power over me for I am not your slave
