I Am Nothing

They watch over me

Every step, every sound, every move

Then they ignore me

Not a word, not a glance, not a worry

I want to be free

I want to go out on my own

But I am scared of the unknown

They tell me not to

They yell, they glare, they slap

I sit in silence

The dead quiet after a battle

But there was no war here

There will be no love here

Faded into the blackness

I feel nothing, see nothing, am nothing
