I Am The One

I am my own home.

I am the one who will love me most.

I am everything to me and although I may be nothing to no one else, I am very important.

I am strong willed and hardworking.

I am not afraid to give a helping hand.

I am today what I never imagined I'd be yesterday.

I am the only one who can let myself go.

I am alive and well, which is not where I planned on being a year ago, for I was weak and sick minded and I believed I'd be better off in the ground than in a classroom.

I am focused and not the sad, blinded girl who sat in the back of class.

I am happy with my life decisions and I refuse to settle for an unhappy moment.

I am the only thing standing in my way and No one else can take that away from me.

I am proud to be alive and overcome the depression that used to consume me daily.

I am the love of my life and the light at the end of a tunnel and I will not break down.

I Am Salma Marie Hernandez and I am the one.
