I am... Passionate

I took a tour about a week ago of the stunning ISU campus, and all I felt was passion, everyone loved being there and I fell in love. It was like it had this indescribable atmosphere, one that sort of just makes you feel at peace yet excited all at once. I wasn’t the world greatest academic student, and I knew that. My mom would always say, “How come you can do so well in Biology or Cosmetology but not geometry?”  I would always say “I’m really only good in those because those are the classes I’m passionate in.” I wasn’t really sure where it was I wanted to go in life, but after visiting ISU it hit me like a rock. The’ catchphrase’ if you will, for ISU is “STATE YOUR PASSION” and I thought about it. There is nothing on this earth that I am more passionate about then dance. I started dancing officially at a dance studio near my house about two years ago, I’d always dreamed of being a dancer but there was no way my family could afford it. So when I got my first job at sixteen, I walked right over to the studio and have been dancing ever since. Now I know I’m not the greatest dancer you’ll ever see, I could use some training in my technique since I only have about two years under my belt but I am the most passionate. I am willing to put the work in. I’m willing to do whatever it takes to make my dreams come true, which after visiting ISU I’ve realized, I want to open and run my very own dance studio and company.  Be the next Abby Lee Miller of the entertainment world. It would truly be an honor if ISU would help me get there, give me a chance not for who I was then, but who I have the potential to be now that I know where I’m headed in life. If you just give me the chance I will work harder, study later, and train harder than ever before. I know I can do it.
