I Am Perfectly Imperfect
Whenever I thought about what I would like to be
Beautiful, important, and perfect were the words that came to me
"You can be anything you want!" "The world is your playground!"
"Then why can't I be perfect?" My goal was unsound
I would beat myself up for mistakes I made
"You have got to make the perfect grade"
Participating only when I could succeed,
There was a lesson I needed to heed
My conscious came to my rescue; I had an epiphany
Being perfect is beyond my ability
You see, every mistake is a learning experience
What makes a person strong is their resilience
Perfect? No, that isn't what I aim to be
Perfectly imperfect? Yep exactly!
