I Am the Phase of Maturity

I am the phase of maturity and it’s written all over my face

You can see the evolution of who I was then, who I am now, and even get a glimpse of what’s taking place

I have made mistakes and I have regrets

I’ve fallen to challenges that I knew I had met

Defeated, discouraged: no that’s not how I’m built

I stay prayed up, hopeful, and optimistic about what’s coming next

I’ve been criticized and rejected, but it only motivates me to the next set

I know who holds the key to my each and every step

Because it’s my thoughts and my actions that will navigate the path where I “goal” next

Like others, I have dreamed dreams and I haven’t stopped dreaming yet

I will keep pushing and pursuing until I reach my very best

When will I get there? - - Only time can ring the bell on my quest

I don’t have all the answers - - I haven’t arrived yet

This phase I am

It’s the phase of maturity

It simply allows me to be me
