I am Poem

I am young and new to the world

I wonder about “life on your own”

I hear young adults talk about drugs and sex

I see a beautiful reflection and...its me

I want to succeed in life

I am young and new to the world

I pretend to have life planned out

I feel scared about life

I touch my heart and feel it race

I worry about paying thousands in loans

I cry about my low grades

I am young and new to the world

I understand that life is not going to be easy

I say I am fine, when I really am not

I dream of being able to say that I didn’t fail

I try to plan for whats to come

I hope that I’ll make it

I am brave and unconquerable
