I am From Poem
I am from floors to windows,
from clorox and glass cleaner.
I from the dirt wiped off the floor, from the gelisim from the sun that shines through the window
I am from the bright red roses outside who attract everyone and many decide to take and pull off the stem
I’m from endless nights in the gym to memorable loses that have turned me into a leader
I’m from Christmas night where everyone gathers around the fire drinking hot chocolate gossiping about who knows what
I’m From endless conversations about Jacob and Eternity
From my mom’s sympathy about her son and daughter and questioning why can’t I be as helpful as them
I’m from being up at 6:30 a.m. getting ready for games or any upcoming event to arguing because of how tired I am
I’m from “stop being lazy” to “your not working hard enough why am I wasting my time with you”
I’m from early saturday mornings and cleaning the whole house to everything becoming shiny and beautiful
I’m from the ghetto places in Los Angeles such as Florence and Watts to place in Mexico such as San Luis and Sinaloa
From tortillas made by hand and always having family gatherings to eat carne asada
I’m from everyone talking about Aaron and how much I am like him in every way
From all the bins up in the attic gather dust with all our memories, from the tree that is outside that is old and ready to collapse but embraces my childhood
I am from a basketball that is always thrown up in the air and that is never put away.
