I Am a Poet

I rise like Maya

Like unsettled dirt on the ground

I have the strength of Emily

And cherish my blessings every time they come around

I face death like William

Face the reaper head on

I am sanely, insane

And like Edgar; I am gone

I love like Shakespeare

My heart speaks in only sonnets

I view the world like Oscar

I am delicate  but honest

I am not made up of this land

My roots never started here and I know it

My heart was planted on paper

And I am nothing less than greater

I am a writer

I am a poet
