I Am A Poet

Listen, the way that my hands flow along the paper,

shows that I can put words together.

As I speak my thoughts and see how the audience attention

is captured and the way your eyes squint and head slightly

turns to the side, then he or she starts to smile because what I've

just described was true. I Am A Poet, not because I can put 2 words or 20 words

together, or not because I'm standing up here talking into a mic. I Am A Poet,

because I can use words and take them, mix them, make them entertaining,

and create an imagination of art because I Am A Poet.

It's funny how I just said these things and turned them into poetry without even

thinking about what I was going to say next. No, seriously, I literally

didn't think about what to write, It just came from the heart because I Am A Poet.

A Poet, A Poet, A Poet, the sound of that just makes me tingle inside because

I've come this far to have this title because I Am A Poet. I been through

a lot of things in my life and the best way for me to deal with it was to write.

Write it down, release your feelings and create, birth a new creation, a new you...I

 Am A Poet.
