I Am Poetry

Poetry is the music of my thoughts and the harmony of my heart

If I begin to speak about it, I need to figure out where to start

How about when I was yet an infant in my mother’s womb,

Poetry flowed through me as my growing limbs wriggled for room

I grew and jumped and ran and played

But the ability to write my poetry didn’t fade

As a rambunctious teen poetry and I became fairly distant

But even as soon as today came

I returned to poetry in an instant

Back to what I knew and something that was a part of my being

I began to write again and couldn’t believe what I was seeing

Words flow out from my mind down to my finger tips

As I type these colorful thoughts and translate them into this

A song? Some lyrics? People may ask what this could be

This is my song from the heart- My Poetry
