I AM A PRAYER

I am praying for a day.

A day when no one will care about my race.

A day when all can be gay.

A day when the color of my face.

Will cause no shame

But who is there to blame

The poor souls who lack grace

Or the top of the chain who only cause disgrace?

I am praying for a day.

A day when the young and old are free.

A day when gender does not gleam.

A day when you and me are treated equally.
