I Am a Princess
Once upon a time there was a princess, a prince, and a wish
Once upon a time there was a bed, a wheel, and a kiss
Once upon a time there was a couple filled with glee
But why can’t the once upon a time be about me
I know what you're thinking what’s interesting about her
Well I’ll tell you soon, but please be patient sir
I too was born in a magical kingdom
It’s a country where my founding fathers fought for freedom
I grew up with two parents unlike some princess’ do
And always love to sing bibbidi-bobbidi-boo
I’m a dreamer at heart and believe in fairies
So really I am a princess because they feel the same
I may not have an animal sidekick or a tower
Or even a prince, but I will always have power
Power to overcome, power to love, and power to be joyful
So really I am a princess because they do the same
They whistle while they work
Love kindness and sleeping
Reading books, cooking, and eating
So really I am a princess because I do the same
