I am the problem

I am the problem?

I wonder what I did to make you upset.

I hear the scoffs as I walk past you, not knowing what I did wrong.

I see the annoyance in your face.

I want someone to tell me what I did.

I am the problem?

I pretend that I know so I do not have to ask.

I feel a sinking feeling in my stomach whenever I pass you.

I touch your shoulder, asking what I did.

I worry you will not answer.

I believe I did something wrong.

I am the problem?

I understand that you might never tell me.

I say I’m sorry for whatever I did.

I dream of you speaking to me again.

I try to push the sadness away.

I hope you forgive me.

I am the problem.
