I Am the Rose

They say it's beautiful

They say it's gorgeous

Until they've touched the thorns

They've been hurt by the pretty rose

Why does it bring pain?

They say I'm beautiful

They say I'm gorgeous

Until they've touched my heart

They've been hurt by the pretty girl

Why do I bring pain?

I can't help but get in my feelings

And say "I love you"

Then I realize my purpose

And have to stop you from loving me too

I can't keep starting something I can't finish

And try to finish something while starting something else

I cut people like the rose

It just depends on how tough their skin is when they touch my thorns
