I am a runner

I am a runner.

Wind rushes past my face

Dust kicks up under my feet.

Sweat drips

Down from all parts of my body

As if a cool rain is

Always going.

The run has shaped me,

Molded me

Into the person

I am.

Respect,

Humility,

Integrity.

That is what the run has taught me.

Being a runner means having fun,

Enjoying what life has to offer.

Competition drives my mind.

The desire to be the best,

But at the end of the day,

Whether the pace is slow or fast,

I will always be a runner.

I am a runner.
