I Am Rust
I was once the shiniest of all,
I was like a tower - tall,
My dreams were endless,
Were endless like an infinite hall.
The roar was deep,
The daylight could not keep,
The curtain descended down upon,
The sides now saturated - into the building water shall seep.
Slowly uncared for - I'm damaged,
I decend into metals darkness,
My fears have come to light,
Sunlight had now shown upon my structure.
The land and I now desiccate,
The land not in upkeep,
My life was in negligence,
All seemed to be disremembered.
The rays do their dance,
I stand - still erect,
Oxidization of my skin,
O how it burns me so.
Slowly I rot,
Slowly I rust,
Slowly I ruin,
Slowly I conclude.
I am rust...
