I am a Salute.

Whether young or old, we know they'll go, to serve our country strong

Uniform blue, they always knew, the journey would be hard and long

He left his home, he's all alone, no one for a friend

To fill the hole, that's in his soul he had paper and a pen.

What am I fighting for is it time to say goodbye?

What am I fighting for? The plane deploys tonight.

The letter said, I'm in my bed and I just can't close my eyes

The thought of you, and what you do I just hope that you're alright

What am I fighting for is it family and God?

What am I fighting for? I don't know if I have enough.

What am I fighting for is it my honor, my strength?

What am I fighting for, allegience to this place?

I know what I'm fighting for it's the strength to say goodbye

I know what I'm fighting for, it's the freedom of all our lives.

My hero's been welcomed home in the twilight of tonight

Silently strong, he moves on from the memory of the fight

He served enough, his time is up and his arms are open wide

He filled his role, reached his goal and the legacy goes on and on and on.....

It Goes On....
